CELEBRATING THE GOSPEL… The GOOD NEWS

God created man in His image and released him into his purpose to ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion …over every living thing that moves on the earth.’ In relationship with God, walking with God, empowered by God and His presence he was to release Heavens Kingly domain here on earth.

Being deceived into rebellion and disobedience caused separation from the empowerment, relationship and presence that releasing God’s Kingdom here on earth needed.

But God’s plan didn’t stop there.

There is much Good News!

The Cross

At the cross Jesus the Son of God gave His life, He died and was resurrected from the dead, so that those who accept Him as their Lord and Saviour receive life and restoration of relationship, presence, and empowerment to fulfil that original commission… to release the Kingdom of God here on earth.

What Jesus did at the cross is foundational to the restoration of mankind into this original commission.

At the cross we are set free from the kingdom of darkness to which we were enslaved.

A shadow of this is seen in the nation of Israel being set free from their enslavement to Egypt. As an annual reminder they were to sacrifice a Passover Lamb to celebrate that freedom that came with signs and wonders.

The reality that this shadow pointed to is Jesus our Passover Lamb sacrificed for us. We celebrate our freedom with the symbols of His blood (wine) and His broken body (bread) as Jesus Himself ordained on the night before He died, that is, at the beginning of the Hebrew day that the Passover lamb was sacrificed.

So we can celebrate with the bread and wine our freedom and new life. It is an affirmation and sign of the covenant we made with Him at baptism. We affirm being born into His Family as a Royal Priesthood with everlasting life.

And God is a God who loves to celebrate!

Healed by His stripes

The broken bread that we take with the wine speaks powerfully to me of the broken body of Christ. Of the bread He said ‘this is My body broken for you’ and I believe it is an affirmation of that part of His sacrifice that makes our physical healing possible. It is by His stripes that we are healed. The price for our healing has been made and so we claim healing as His will, appropriating the sacrifice that He made for each one of us.

That’s Good News to celebrate!

This is why we actively minister to those who need healing.

From Freedom to Victory

When we accept Jesus as our Saviour and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, being born into God’s family, we are set free from the kingdom of darkness and death it brings.

This freedom and reconciliation to our Father God gives us eternal life.

But experience shows us that this freedom doesn’t automatically give us victory over our wounding or over the lies we believe about ourselves, others and God.

There is a process we often have to follow to gain our victory.

This is a process of actively applying the cross to areas of pain, ungodly belief, and mental strongholds.

It is part of the washing, sanctifying, process involving Jesus, (The Word, The Truth), in partnership with the Holy Spirit.

In the story of Israel being set free from their slavery in Egypt we see them celebrate that freedom as they walked out following the directions of God.

But their past came after them. It wasn’t until they saw that past that pursued them drowned in the Red Sea that they were able to also celebrate their victory.

And God celebrated with them as they held a celebration feast on those days every year in remembrance of His goodness in giving them their freedom and victory.

It is this process of bringing victory into areas of peoples lives that we are involved with in both ‘SOZO’ and ‘Restoring The Foundations’ ministry.

It is founded on the partnership of Jesus, (The Way, The Word and The Truth) and the power guidance and revelation of The Holy Spirit.

I celebrate victory in the lives of God’s children.

Empowered to Evangelise

At Pentecost the Israelite nation was given a system of governance that was intended to be a success story example to the nations around them.

After Jesus’ sacrifice, that governance was changed to being not external and imposed, but to be internal, to be from the heart as Jesus now lived in His body the Church.

Then at Pentecost the church was, through the gifting of the Holy Spirit, empowered for signs and wonders in order to demonstrate the power, love, and goodness of God so that those that were exposed to Gods goodness would be drawn to new life in Jesus.

This is empowerment to demonstrate the Kingdom of God and to fulfil the original commission to bring God’s Kingdom to earth.

That’s a great thing to Celebrate!

Celebrating the Future

At the sound of the Trumpet Jesus is prophesied to return to earth as King of Kings and Lord of Lords to rule His Kingdom with the saints, His bride.

We celebrate this as well as the truth that He already has returned in a real sense to dwell within each of us.

Satan will then be bound in such a way that he will no longer influence mankind. He will pay the price for what he has been responsible for in bringing misery on mankind.

We celebrate this future event as well as the truth that even now we have the victory over him through the atoning blood of Jesus.

Then there is the prophesied thousand year period with Jesus dwelling (tabernacling) on Earth ruling with His resurrected spirit bodied saints. It is a time of peace, health, and abundance.

We celebrate that future as well as celebrating the truth that Jesus came as a man and tabernacled on earth, God incarnate, some 2000 years ago. And we celebrate the truth that he dwells in these physical bodies (bodies that are tabernacles for His presence) right now in our present lives as we learn to depend and trust in Him for our needs.

Many may disagree but I believe that there is the possibility that, in His goodness, God has a plan for all those who died never knowing the salvation available at the cross. I am NOT talking about geting a second chance... I am talking about getting a chance. Wouldn't that be great if they were to be resurrected to live again; to be given the opportunity to have the power of the cross revealed to them and to be given the chance to make a choice for eternal life.

That would be good news and I would celebrate that possibility.
